School girls have explored outer space and their solar system.

St Anthony’s School for Girls in Golders Green held ‘Space Week’ two weeks ago.

The girls dressed up as astronauts and aliens and would answer questions about space, black holes and meteorites – a planetarium was also set up in a class room.

Interim Headteacher, Donal Brennan said: “Space Week has challenged the children to think beyond our planet’s confines and reflect on the opportunities which are unknown to us.

“It was a chance to look at our wonderful planet, marvel at the beauty of its creation and to appreciate how we must be guardians of this environment for us and for future generations.

“Lessons and activities helped the girls to be thankful for our home on earth and its sensitive position within the galaxy and embed in the girls a sense of stewardship for the environment in which we live.”
