A bingo player has bagged a £50,000 national prize.

Businesswoman, Dannie Westbury-Barnes had lady luck on her side when she managed to scoop the Full House National Bingo Game prize at Beacon Bingo Cricklewood in November.

When asked about her win; Mrs Barnes, said: “It was amazing to win the national game and a complete shock.

“It got down to the final chance to win the big jackpot prize, and as I pointed at my machine, my number was called.

“I wasn’t sure if I’d won the big jackpot or the smaller one until it was confirmed, it was all very surreal.

“I went straight outside to phone my husband and tell him what I’d won.”

“The other players were all cheering and clapping for me, and a lot came up to congratulate me afterwards which was lovely – it is like one big family.

“I’ve decided to split the prize money with my mum and sister, who were both there with me on the night.”

The National Bingo Game has been running since 1986.

It is played twice daily (except Christmas Day) with approximately 260 clubs participating in the afternoon game and 300 clubs in the evening.

The biggest prize ever won on a national game was an eye-watering £1.3 million in 2008.
