Kind-hearted runners raised thousands of pounds for people with life-limiting illnesses.
The Handy Cross Runners, who fundraise for a chosen charity each year, presented South Bucks Hospice with this year’s entry fees from the Wycombe Half Marathon, the Wycombe 10k and the Marlow 5.
A cheque for £4,000 was handed over to hospice fundraiser Yvette Smith, who said: “: “Thank you so much. This money will make a difference. It really is wonderful.”
Simon Adams, chairman of Handy Cross Runners, described the amount raised as “fabulous” and said: “We have people in the club who have been touched by cancer and it makes this all the more relevant.”
Club Secretary Chris Gentry added: “It’s more than we expected to raise – it’s brilliant.”
The hospice is based in High Wycombe.
