People gathered to remember lost loved ones at a memorial event.

Peace Hospice Care held its Lights of Love commemoration ceremony outside Watford Town Hall on Tuesday, with songs, readings, music, and the chance to dedicate a light.

The Lights of Love tree was switched on by Lucy Petagine, whose mother was cared for by the hospice.

Lucy said: “The care my mum received at the hospice was exceptional. I know that my mum felt very welcome and all the staff were very attentive and caring, not only for my mum but for our whole family and the hospice feels like a second home.

“The nurses were some of the kindest people I’ve ever met and I will always cherish their kindness, love and support.”
