A man was hit with a hammer as a dispute broke out between two men.
A passing police car was flagged down by the public after they spotted the men in Leeming Road, Borehamwood, at around midday yesterday.
Police say an altercation broke out between the pair before one struck the other with a hammer.
A van and several police cars attended the incident.
- A 32-year-old man from Borehamwood was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and affray.
- A 27-year-old man from Borehamwood was arrested on suspicion of affray, criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon.
Both have been released on bail until January 11, 2019.
