A supermarket giant says it is planning to open a new store in Borehamwood this summer.

Founded by brothers Karl and Theo Albrecht in 1946 in Germany, the first UK store opened in 1990 in Birmingham.

Many of the items stocked in Aldi are its own brand and has earnt a reputation of becoming a budget situation.

The new store will bring 50 jobs.

An Aldi spokeswoman said: “We are planning to open the new Borehamwood store this summer which will create up to 50 new jobs. Anyone wanting to apply for a job at the store can find out more about the roles available at aldirecruitment.co.uk.”
