A care home chef has won an award for ‘going above and beyond’.

Callum Stoneham, Head Chef of Chorleywood Beaumont Nursing Home has been crowned the winner of the Best Care Chef for the London Regional of the Great British Care Awards 2018.

He has made it through to the national finals which take place on February 7 in Birmingham.

Callum was praised for ‘going above and beyond’ to ensure that all of his residents have the care and quality they deserve – in particular ensuring that arranged and hosted ‘A Chorleywood Beaumont Wedding’.

One of the residents in the home was upset as she would not be able to attend her grandson's wedding.

As a result, he arranged with the family to bring the wedding party to Chorleywood so that she could have a wedding meal with her family.

Divisional Director Natasha Lazovic said: “The Division and Region are immensely proud of Callum’s achievement in being awarded the Best Care Chef. We wish him the very best at the Nationals in 2019."
