Firefighters were called to a blazing van on the M25 this morning.
Essex Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 6.41am of a vehicle alight along the westbound carriageway near Junction 26 in Waltham Abbey.
Traffic queues were reported to stretch back 12 miles while emergency crews and the Highways Agency worked to resolve the incident.
The fire was extinguished by 7.41am.
