It is a source of pride for Enfield Ignatians when their young players gain county caps, and some of the club’s most promising prospects have been representing Middlesex and Hertfordshire.

Kian Linnane and Ethan Robinson both featured in the Middlesex Under18’s side which proved too strong for their Surrey counterparts after a comprehensive 38-10 win at Harpenden.

Similarly, Euan Renny and Cairo Sango both represented a Hertfordshire Under-20s side which demolished an Old Albanians Under-20 academy side after clocking up more than half a century of points.

Ignatians spokesman Martin Baker said: “The club are very proud of our county players and it rightly reflects well on our youth section.”

The club also runs a girls’ section which acquitted itself very well in the Royston tournament in which it was represented at Under-11, Under-13 and Under-15 level.

After pitting themselves against teams from Hertfordshire, Essex and Buckinghamshire, the age groups featuring Ignatians’ players each won two of their three games.
