Watford head coach Javi Gracia will make a late call on the fitness of Roberto Pereyra to decide whether the attacker can return for Friday night’s FA Cup tie at Queens Park Rangers.

The Argentina international, who has scored seven goals for club and country this season, has missed the last two matches with a calf injury but has been training with the squad this week.

Gracia will assess Pereyra and Sebastian Prodl’s (knee) fitness tomorrow but will definitely be missing forward Isaac Success and defender Kiko Femenia with hamstring injuries.

The Watford head coach said: “In this moment we have Isaac Success and Kiko Femenia injured. The rest of the players are training.

“Some players like Sebastian Prodl and Roberto Pereyra are training with the team but we’ll decide tomorrow if they have options to play or not. In this moment we only have these two players injured.”

Femenia was expected to return to the squad for last weekend’s game at home to Everton but had a setback in training and will have to wait another week to make his comeback.

Gracia said: “He started one day [Femenia] but after the last training before the game he didn’t feel well and we decided to stop for a couple of days.

“Now he’s training again but not with the team. His process is a little bit longer than we thought in the beginning but in this moment I think he will be back for Cardiff.”
