A major road remains closed this evening – and plenty of drivers are getting caught out by the closure.
Affinity Water has shut Shenley Road in Borehamwood to carry out essential repairs.
It has been closed since yesterday and workers have dug into the ground which stretches right across the road.
The repair work is being carried out close to the junction of Thrift Farm Lane.
But drivers shouldn’t travel along Shenley Road between the Elstree Studios roundabout and Hartforde Road junctions because they will only be forced to turn around.
Cowley Hill by Hertswood is open as normal – there are signs in Green Street, Shenley, which suggest the road ahead is closed.
The work is scheduled to be completed tomorrow (Wednesday) according to Hertfordshire County Council’s website, however there appears to be a fair bit of work to go still.
Drivers are being diverted in a number of different directions depending on which way you are travelling from, including one diversion all the way through Shenley, Radlett, and then Theobald Street into Borehamwood.
The closure means Elstree Way, Brook Road, and roads through Cowley Hill ward are busier than usual.
