A church has re-opened its doors following a 16-week long renovation.

Trinity Church and Community Centre in Colindale opened on February 22 after Barratt London, a building firm, saw the state of the church while visiting and decided to provide a full renovation.

The leader of Barnet Council, Cllr Richard Cornelius spoke at the opening, said: “It is great that the Barratt team were able to refurbish the Trinity Church and Community Centre to enable its excellent work to continue.

“The successful debt-advice service, the food bank and the winter shelter that use the centre, are all examples of a community in action.

“Everyone is doing something to be really proud of.”

Pastor Duncan continues: “I originally approached Barratt London and asked them to help us build a disabled toilet.

“When they visited the site and saw the extent to which the Church was being used for the community and the poor state of the building, they went way beyond any expectations and renovated the whole building.

“It has been an extremely positive partnership between Trinity and Barratt London which has produced a superb space for the community for many years to come. I want to thank Barratt London for their ongoing support, engagement and partnership with the project.”
