Barnet’s youngsters have tumbled their way to victory after winning the British Gymnastics Regionals.
Zacharia Goodwin, Jacob Santhouse, Sam Bangs and Jake Dias beat expectations at the British Gymnastics Nationals at Bromley Valley in Orpington last week between March 14 and 17.
In one case, Zacharia with his 10-year-old partner, Jake, took home silver after losing to Bromley Valley in Orpington by just a fraction of a point.
Zacharia said: “I knew it would be close, we lost the Gold to Bromley Valley by a mere fraction of a point, but since we had literally only trained for Grade 3 for two months with a brand-new routine.
“I am extremely proud of Jake as he jumped up from Grade 1, missing Grade 2 straight to 3.
“It was a huge challenge for us both to learn the new moves and I had to get really strong to lift him, but he worked so hard, it kept me motivated too.”
