A group of creative students have demonstrated their business acumen after they reached the county finals of a competition.

Sixteen pupils at Yavneh College in Borehamwood have worked on the branding of AnchoredMug, a working product from China.

The innovative mug has been created with one purpose in mind – to prevent spilling your drink.

The mug is fitted with an airlock suction system which helps firmly secure the mug to any smooth surface meaning that even if the mug is knocked from the side, it will not fall.

With the application of a light force upwards, the AnchoredMug lifts up effortlessly.

On March 19, Zack Isaacs, managing director, Samantha Lewkowicz, administration director, Leo Kaufman, finance director and Jacob Taylor, operations director along with business advisors Harry Levy and Cameron Morris presented the AnchoredMug to three judges at KPMG in Watford.

They have made it through to Young Enterprise’s south west Herts showcase event. They also won awards for product innovation and financial management.

Spencer Lewis, head teacher at Yavneh College, said: “We are so proud of the students who have reached the county final of Young Enterprise this year. They have worked so hard in sourcing and selling an incredibly professional product. We wish them every success in the next round.”
