After dozens of complaints about speeding in a village, a councillor has been working with the police to tackle the problem.
160 letters have been sent from the community outlining concerns over drivers who travel too fast through Shenley – particularly along Shenleybury and Black Lion Hill.
In a further effort to find a solution, Shenley ward councillor Anthony Spencer and leader of Hertsmere Borough Council, Cllr Morris Bright, met with Cllr Phil Bibby, responsible for highways at Hertfordshire County Council, where they presented him with the letters.
Cllr Bibby will take a look at the letters before he responds to Shenley Parish Council where he may outline an action plan.
Police know that Shenley can be a hotspot for speeding drivers and are often seen at the bottom of Black Lion Hill or near Shenleybury Cottages.
Fifteen volunteers have been recruited within the village who will work alongside police in the meantime with these speed traps.
