The A1 has reopened after a crash shut the northbound carriageway for more than three hours.

There has been traffic chaos across Mill Hill, Edgware, and Elstree this evening following a collision between a car and a lorry.

All emergency services were called to the scene at 4.23pm. The Met Police say a female driver has suffered neck injuries but it is not believed to be life-threatening.

A decison was made to close the A1 between Apex Corner and Stirling Corner. The road was open again by 8.30pm.

Long delays remain in the area.

Queues southbound on the A1 approaching Apex Corner, as well as all other routes into Apex Corner.

Also queues both ways in Hendon Wood Lane.

Busy still as well on the A411 Barnet Lane between Borehamwood and Elstree and Elstree Hill South between Centennial Park and Elstree village crossroads.

Delays should now begin to ease.
