A new restaurant founded by late reality TV star Mike Thalassitis has confirmed their will officially open this weekend.

The opening falls six weeks after the Love Island contestant was found dead in a park in north London, which is not bring treated as suspicious by police.

In a post uploaded onto Instagram earlier this week, modern brunch eatery, The Skillet, will welcome guests on Saturday, April 27.

The restaurant temporarily postponed launching on High Road, Loughton, following Mr Thalassitis’ death on Saturday, March 16.

The post uploaded onto The Skillet’s official Instagram page says: “In special tribute to Mike, all drink proceeds over launch weekend will be donated to the mental health charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) to build awareness of depression in young men and develop practical resources to support those suffering.

“Mike worked extremely hard on this launch. He was passionate about cooking and it was his dream to one day open a restaurant.

“Together, we have created a first-rate breakfast bar we hope you will enjoy and we invite you all to come down and celebrate his love of good food.”

Over a 1,000 people have liked the post and several followers left good luck messages in the lead up to the opening day.

The 26-year-old was to run the company alongside business partner Scott Nielson.

The Skillet will be open from 8am-5pm on Saturday, April 27.
