A French bulldog that was stolen from a hotel car park in January has been reunited with her “thrilled” family.

During the afternoon of January 23, thieves smashed the window of a white Ford Transit van which was parked at the Noke hotel in Chiswell Green.

Inside the van was French bulldog Roxy, who was taken.

Police launched an appeal to find Roxy but more than three months later, she remained missing.

That was until Thames Valley police officers on a routine enquiry came across the dog at a site in Slough, Berkshire, on April 30.

Roxy was checked over by a vet and found to be well looked after.

St Albans Neighbourhood Sergeant Paul Caro said: “The family were so surprised, but overjoyed to see Roxy after such a long time. The owner’s young daughter was especially thrilled to see her beloved dog. She had been well looked after and was in good health, having been checked over by a vet at the weekend.”

Thames Valley Police are continuing enquiries into the theft of Roxy.
