A lunch hosted by an author who has written several books on the royal family raised £6,000 for a charity.
More than 100 guests attended Jewish Care's event at the Betty and Asher Loftus Centre in Friern Barnet on May 22.
Penny Junor, who has written about the Queen and her Corgi's, Prince Charles, Margaret Thatcher, as well as a host of famous actors, signed copies of her book All the Queen's Corgi's before taking a tour of one of the homes at the centre.
The writer said: "I was pleased to have a look around the lovely Kun Mor & George Kiss Care Home. I had a mother who lived in a care home for many years and I wish she'd been somewhere like this. I'm pleased that some of the funds from today's lunch will go towards garden furniture for the new garden and outings for the residents to enjoy."

Carolyn Rozenberg, from Vintage Wealth who sponsored the lunch, added: “I would like to thank Penny Junor for giving her time so generously and entertaining us with such fascinating stories. I’d also like to thank the Options Committee, now in its fifth decade, for organising this fantastic event and our guests for their support.
“Our local committees provide the things that make a real difference to the day to day lives of those that we care for, from Ipads to extra entertainment and wonderful outings, often, it can be the little things that matter most, making someone’s day feel special.”
