A young man believed to have been part of the traveller encampment at Bernards Heath has been arrested after an incident at a pub.
Hertfordshire Police said the man, aged in his 20s, was arrested for threats to cause criminal damage following an incident at The Falcon pub in St Albans.
The incident happened on Saturday (June 1), after the caravans moved onto the Bernards Heath field on Friday evening.
The man is currently in police custody.
The traveller group left the area at around 11.30am on Tuesday (June 4), police confirmed.
A section 61 was authorised and at 10.30am with police officers attended to enforce the order.
Neighbourhood Inspector Andy Wiseman said: “We’d like to thank the public for their patience whilst we worked with St Albans City and District Council to move on the unauthorised encampment. They cannot return to Bernard’s Heath for three months. If any vehicles settle during this time, they can be arrested.
“Because of the huge community impact, we have put a dispersal order in place from 1pm today until 10am on Thursday June 6 across the St Albans district, which includes Harpenden and London Colney, Redbourn and Flamstead.”
