A supermarket celebrating its 150th anniversary will be supporting the oldest scouting group in Potters Bar.

Colleagues from Sainsbury's have given up their time to help fundraise for a new scout hut for the 1st Little Heath and Potters Bar Scouts.

The scouting group is demolishing its old hut and building a new one which will cost in excess of £350,000. So far, £160,000 has been raised. They hope the hut can be completed by the end of this year.

As part of Sainsbury's 150 year celebrations, employees up and down the country are volunteering over a period of 150 days.

Most recently, staff at the Potters Bar store helped out at the Potters Bar Festival.

Sainsbury's Potters Bar store manager Toby Hanlon said: "We’re really excited to be helping a local cause so close to our hearts – it’s a great way for our colleagues to come together and support the community. It’s so important for us to give back to our local community and what better time than in our 150th year."
