Children from Cherry Tree Primary School celebrated the end of the school term with a trip to the cinema to watch Toy Story 4.

The Year 6 class won tickets to watch the movie in Vue Watford after taking part in a competition hosted by the cinema and Watford Observer.

The competition invited children to tell us what their favourite toy is, and why. The winner was a pupil called Amelia, who helped her class win free tickets to see the new Pixar movie.

Jennie Ranyard, pastoral lead at Cherry Tree Primary School, said: "We are very proud that a pupil of Cherry Tree Primary School has won this competition!

"The prize means that Amelia's classmates are able to watch Toy Story 4 together as one of the final activities they will do as Year 6 before they move on to their secondary schools - what a lovely memory to have!"

James Kinsella, general manager at Watford Vue, added: “It was a pleasure to welcome the children from Cherry Tree Primary to see Toy Story 4 on the big screen. We were so impressed with the number and quality of entries we received for the competition, but Amelia’s entry was outstanding.

"As part of the local community here in Watford, we were happy to offer local school children the chance to see one of the biggest films of the year as an end of term treat – and Amelia’s class definitely deserved it.”
