GOLFERS got into the swing of things as they took a step back in time for a day of celebrations.
To mark two big birthday milestones for Warrington Golf Club members Gizelle Stockton and Bridget Grey, the club hosted a special women’s golf day by inviting guests to dress in 60s and 70s clothes before stepping out on to the Appleton green.
And it may have been one of the wettest days in months but it didn’t dampen the spirits for those taking part.
Inspiration for the outfits ranged from Grease characters to Mary Quant mods and flower power hippies, but it was John, Paul, George and Ringo who helped the winners secure victory, with the prize for the best costume going to ‘the Beatles’ aka Pauline Cowell, Elaine Bilton, Edwina Greenwood and Ann Greenough.
Other winners included the quartet of Hilary Wood, Janet Jagan, Lena O’Connor and Catherine Dixon with their rendition of San Francisco.
