A business networking group has generated nearly £900,000 worth of business in its first year.
BNI The Wood has established itself as a core part of the Borehamwood business community and to mark its first year anniversary, the group held a visitors day at Allum Hall last week.
More then 50 representatives from businesses across the town attended the event to find out how the group has been able to transact the cash the money that it has.
The group has aspirations to grow to 50 members are are on the lookout for new people.
In particular, those in the financial and travel industry are welcomed.
Group president David Chernick estimates BNI The Wood could be transacting £3m or more if it does grow to 50 members - the current goal for this financial year us £1.2m.
Katie Reed, a marketing consultant and member of BNI The Wood, added: "As a small business owner I know the power of local networks and work-of-mouth and BNI offers this at its best."
BNI The Wood says the group provides a boost for the business community in Borehamwood.
The chapter meets every Tuesday, 9.30am to 11.30am at Allum Manor House and Hall.
