Roadworks near an underground station will be diverting and interrupting car journeys.

Diversions are set in place at Swiss Avenue, Watford, near Watford Met and Cassiobury Park, due to urgent works to deal with a possible loss of gas supply.

The majority of the road has been closed off from September 14 and is expected to remain shut until September 24.

Fortunately, the diversion is only along Cassiobury Park Avenue and Gade Avenue.

Excavations outside properties between 8 and 6 at Swiss Avenue are in place to repair gas escaping from pipes underneath the road.

Watford Observer:

The works, conducted by Cadent gas network, is described as ‘essential’.
