No damage was sustained to the aircraft, which may have been headed to or from Elstree Aerodrome, and no other property was damaged.

Police attended shortly before 4.30pm after receiving a report of the plane's unscheduled landing.

A witness told us that a non-emergency helicopter landed a little later before taking off again.

The incident will be reported to the air accident investigation branch.
