The skyline in one of Watford's most important roads could begin to look very different next month.
That is because major work to install a footbridge connecting two offices in Clarendon Road is taking place.
The bridge is a key stage in the development of TJX's Europe's new headquarters in the town.
The road connecting Watford Junction and the town centre will be closed for a whole week to allow the installation to take place safely.
It will be shut to all traffic from Saturday at 8pm (October 26) and will not reopen until the following Saturday or Sunday - but it will not be the entire stretch of Clarendon Road that closes.
The street will only be shut between Shady Lane and Station Road.
Northbound traffic will be diverted via Woodford Road and southbound traffic via St Albans Road - there will be diversion signs in place.
Pedestrian access will be maintained as much as possible but there may be footpath diversions at times.
The closure has been timed to take place in the school half-term holidays but it is still likely to cause disruption for commuters heading to the station.
Letters have been sent out to neighbouring properties in Clarendon Road and construction company ISG says it is the "utmost priority" that disruption is kept to a minimum.

Anyone with any specific questions about the scheme can visit the Halkin building in Station Road on Wednesday (October 23) between 4pm and 6pm.
Watford Borough Council granted permission for the 12-storey TJX Europe office building back in 2017. A footbridge connecting the new office and existing offices on the other side of the road was also approved.
Drivers should also be aware that Woodford Road will be closed from 9pm this Wednesday until 5am on the Thursday morning.
Current overnight works in St John's Road will be completed by Wednesday.
