Chief executive of the Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group Kathryn Magson is to take up a top health role on the Isle of Man.

Ms Magson has held the top job at the CCG – which commissions services for west Hertfordshire – for two-and-a half years.

But at the end of this year she will take up the post of interim chief executive of health and social care on the Isle of Man – reporting directly to the government’s chief secretary, on secondment.

Commenting on Ms Magson’s planned move, CCG chairman Dr Nicolas Small said: ". . . our patients, this organisation, and indeed the system as a whole, has benefited immeasurably from having Kathryn as our chief exec for the past two-and-a-half years.

“Her impact has been truly transformational and she has been an absolute pleasure to work with.

“Kathryn will leave us with a CCG team and board who have been inspired by her leadership and empowered to continue developing and embracing change.

“As an organisation, her impact will be long lasting – leaving us stronger and well-able to face the challenges ahead.”

Ms Magson is due to leave the Herts Valleys CCG on secondment at the end of the year, when work on the re-organisation of health services in Hertfordshire will continue.

“Here at Herts Valleys CCG we will continue our relentless focus on improving performance and on transforming services for local people,” said Dr Small.

“We will also work with our fellow CCGs and other partners to progress our closer working around the west of Herts Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), Integrated Care System across our STP footprint (ICS) and the appointment of a new joint accountable officer and shared senior management team for the three CCGs.”
