The opening of a new bus lane in June caused “hours of gridlock”.

Cars and buses were stuck in Harrow Town Centre for several hours due to a new bus lane in College Road.

This left the whole area near Roxborough Bridge at a standstill, with people trapped inside multi-storey car parks and regular bus services.

Following the issues, a joint decision was taken involving the police, Harrow Council, Harrow BID and Transport for London to revert to the original system.

Police clamped down on illegal street games in June that “tricks” people into parting with their cash.

Officers in Harrow worked with Harrow Council to stop the ‘cup and ball’ game where participants guess which cup contains a ball, which was spreading in the borough.

Brent Council rejected plans to demolish an historic 19th century pub of “significant heritage” and replace it with a modern building and new homes.

It came after significant public support to protect the site amid concerns over the proposed new design’s scale and character.

That wasn’t the only historic pub story in June. A 17th Century pub, The Seven pub, reopened following a £500,000 renovation with newly refurbished space and outdoor screens.

The pub formerly known as Seven Balls, Kenton Lane, saw Harrow East MP Bob Blackman pull the first pint there to toast the refurbishment.
