Now it's time to take a look at what made the headlines in September.
The new state-of-the-art Hertswood Academy opened after years of building.
The £30 million pounds plus school in Cowley Hill boasts incredible facilities for students, as demonstrated in some of the photos below.
Also in September, Hertsmere Borough Council's planning committee granted permission for a BMX track in Meadow Park, Borehamwood, part of the park's regeneration.
The decision to grant approval was mostly popular - but the council weren't winning over all of its residents.
That's because a small number of protesters, mainly led by the Hertsmere Labour party, marched through Borehamwood ahead of one of the full council meetings.
Despite the small number of protesters, a tractor brought the town to a halt for a few minutes as it and the campaigners slowly made their way through the centre.
They were chanting 'no faith in our council', and against issues they have including development on greenbelt land, the ‘container home’ development in Borehamwood, cuts to services, NHS provision closures, and rent hikes at shops.
The council were in the headlines for the wrong reasons again after a contractor was filmed waving at a mother whose home backs onto the modular home development in Crown Road.
Shoshana Kramer and her husband Grant felt "mocked and angry" after the workman was filmed waving at her from one one of the new homes.
The Kramer's have been campaigning against the development due to privacy concerns.
The council said what the workman did was "unacceptable" and ordered the Crown Road site manager to make a personal apology.
