A man was arrested in Malmesbury last Friday after a quantity of cannabis worth around £15,000 was seized.

Officers stopped a vehicle at about 6.30pm on the A429 near Malmesbury.

A 45-year-old man from Corsham was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs.

Following his arrest, an address in Corsham and an address in Kemble were searched and officers located cannabis with a street value of around £15,000.

Around £3,500 cash was also located and seized as part of our enquiries.

Inspector James Brain said: “This was an excellent example of proactive policing by all officers involved.

"Following the vehicle stop, we conducted searches at two addresses linked to the individual and seized a significant amount of cannabis and cash.

“The man arrested has since been released under investigation while further enquiries are carried out.

“Drug use and supply can often lead to further issues including anti-social behaviour and violent crime so it is vital that any members of our community who suspect drug activity in their neighbourhood report it so we can take action.”
