A man was arrested following a police pursuit.

Police were called to a report of a man acting aggressively at the BP garage in High Street, Potters Bar, at around 10am yesterday (Sunday).

The man left the forecourt in a white BMW X5 and police soon spotted the vehicle and signalled for it to stop.

The driver did not stop and police gave chase.

The BMW hit several vehicles as the driver tried to evade the police, before the pursuit came to a stop and the driver was detained.

The vehicle came to a stop and the driver was detained.

Police are now appealing for anyone who saw the incident at the BP garage or pursuit to come forward.

Sergeant Martin Kemp, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire road policing unit, said: "Thankfully no one was seriously injured as a result of this morning’s incident and we are pleased that an arrest has been made. However a lot of damage has occurred to innocent people’s vehicles.

High Street or the surrounding area between 10.10am and 10.20am on Sunday.
