A biker who mounted the pavement and sped at 100mph on a busy residential street was caught after police stung his tyres.
Corey Briscoe-McLeary, 38, embarked on a "highly dangerous" ride around north London last week before the police eventually brought his 45 minutes of recklessness to an end on the A41 in Watford.
Officers from the Met Police’s Operation Venice team, tasked with fighting moped crime in London, were tipped off by a police helicopter that a fast-moving motorcycle was acting suspiciously at around 4.20pm last Wednesday in Harlesden.
As officers began to make their way towards the location of the bike, it was reported that the rider had started running red lights and travelling at dangerously high speeds.

At one stage, it disappeared into the Brent Cross shopping centre multi-story car park in order to avoid detection, but after a few minutes exited and drove off at high speed again.
Police continued to attempt to track the motorcycle, which moved from Brent into Barnet through a number of main and side roads.

It mounted pavements and reached up to 100mph in a 30mph zone without police vehicles behind it, before joining the M1 travelling northbound towards Watford.
Briscoe-McLearly left the M1 at junction 5 for Watford and headed down the A41 towards the Dome roundabout.
But police lay in wait at the junction with Woodmere Avenue, and a stinger was thrown across the road.

Helicopter footage shows the riding crashing immediately, because the stinger had deflated the bike's tyres. Briscoe-McLearly hit a police motorcyclist before coming off his bike. He was arrested.

Briscoe-McLeary, from Janson Close in Neasden, was charged with dangerous driving, possession of cannabis, making off without payment and driving without a license or insurance.
He pleaded guilty to the offences at Willesden Magistrates Court on Friday January 31 and will be sentenced at Harrow Crown Court at a later date.

Sergeant Tony McGovern, of the Operation Venice scorpion unit who deployed the stinger, said: "I have been a police officer for 15 years and the manner of riding displayed in this incident was one of the worst examples I have ever seen.
"It was highly dangerous and this individual put his own life, and the life of other members of the public in serious danger, this was without police units in direct pursuit.
"The main focus of everyone involved in this incident was bringing it to a safe conclusion.
"It was clear Briscoe-McLeary was willing to take high risks to evade capture, and I am pleased that the actions taken prevented serious injury or worse coming to members of the public, and the rider himself."
