Hundreds of thousands of people across the country joined in a mass round of applause for NHS workers battling the coronavirus pandemic.

The Clap for Carers campaign, which started online, was staged to thank the frontline healthcare heroes who are helping to save patients with Covid-19.

Videos shared by readers show neighbours in Epping Forest clapping and cheering from their homes as a show of unity at 8pm last night.

Loughton

Ian Hutchinson shared this heartwarming video of his three children - Tommy, Harry and Chloe - celebrating the work of the NHS in Newmans Lane, Loughton. 

Tony Bentley shared this video of his family joining in with residents of England's Lane, Loughton, saluting NHS heroes working tirelessly to combat the spread of the virus.

Residents in North Weald also made a lot of noise for NHS staff, as demonstrated in this video sent in by Rianne Hoye.

Terri North also captured the mass clapping event in North Weald. Terri said her mum has been making masks and donating them to frontline workers and vulnerable people.
