AFC Totton - 1993
THE date is October, 1993 and if you look carefully among the faces of members of AFC Totton you'll spot two footballing legends.
In the centre is the unmistakable bearded figure of the late George Best and in the same row, next door but one, is Rodney Marsh.
The two footballing idols were at Testwood Park to pass on some of their soccer skills to almost 40 youngsters from Southampton’s Redbridge First School.
“The kids were terrific, even though the footballs were bigger than some of the players,’’George told the Daily Echo at the time of the football masterclass.
