Over the last week I have volunteered my time delivering food parcels to the elderly and the vulnerable.
I listen daily to the Prime Minister on the television telling people to stay indoors, not to go out, and yes it’s essential unless you are a key worker. But what I’ve seen over this week has shocked me so much words cannot describe it.
Kids, teenagers mostly, hanging around on the streets still in the middle of the day. The poor teachers who spent the whole week doing their work packages to do at home were wasting their time. People still not staying apart from each other people, fighting in the supermarkets for essentials. Little newsagents doubling the prices on daily essentials.
From a local resident helping people, stay indoors, do not leave unless it’s essential. There are people out there that will deliver to you. It’s not possible for you to go out in a safe manner.
