A children's hospice has received a £1,000 donation which will help support a baby and toddler group.
Barratt London has chosen to give cash to Noah's Ark Children's Hospice, a Barnet-based charity which works across north London and Hertsmere.
The money will help fund the charity's Monkey Groups’, which hold fun accessible events for children aged zero to four.
The sessions run concurrently with parents’ groups so that parents can gather together to meet and talk. The programme enables families to have fun, develop confidence and build their own community of support.
Alison Goodman, director of fundraising and communications at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, said: "We’re hugely grateful to Barratt London for its generosity in supporting our work.
"The Monkey Groups that the housebuilder is supporting are a brilliant way for young children to get involved with our activities, which promote positive development, build a sense of independence and provide the opportunity to form friendships with their peers."
The money has been awarded through Barratt London’s Community Fund, which sees the housebuilder donate £1,000 per month to a local charity or organisation working to improve the quality of life for those living in the local area.
On this occasion, the company chose Noah's Ark, which has been providing specialist support for babies, children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions for 21 years.
Pam Reardon, sales and marketing director for Barratt East London, comments: "The work of Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice is an inspiration, providing a vital service to the local people of Barnet.
"At Barratt London, building strong vibrant communities is central to our ethos and so we are delighted to support the dedicated team at Noah’s Ark, who are a doing an invaluable job."
