The latest announced deaths occurred between Saturday (April 25) and yesterday (April 27).

Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.

This means some of the deaths that have been announced in the last 24 hours may have taken place days earlier.

NHS England guidance states: "Confirmation of Covid-19 diagnosis, death notification and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure."

Across England, a further 552 people, who tested positive for coronavirus have died.

This brings the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 19,301.

Patients were aged between 31 and 99 years old.

Thirty-eight of the 552 patients, aged between 36 and 99 years old, had no known underlying health condition.

Their families have been informed.
