Police rushed to a road after reports that a man believed to be holding a machete chased another man.
Hertfordshire Constabulary says it was called on Wednesday, June 24, at around 5.15pm following an incident in Uxbridge Road, Rickmansworth.
The force says it was alleged that a man in possession of what was believed to be a machete chased another man.
Officers attended but the victim was not around when police arrived. A weapon was recovered from the scene.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police believe that the two men know each other.
James Prazer, 30, from Rickmansworth, has been charged with possession of a pointed/bladed article.
He has been bailed to appear before St Albans Magistrates’ Court on August 7.
