A Mercedes stolen during a burglary last night has been recovered by the police in Farnworth.
Officers pursued the vehicle, a Mercedes A200, before the offenders abandoned the car and it has now been returned to its owner.
Identification of the culprits was made easier thanks to the offenders leaving behind their belongings.
The car was stolen during a burglary last night. Police have arrested one offender today and they are currently in custody.
In a statement on Twitter Greater Manchester Police said: "A stolen Mercedes A200 from a burglary last night has just been recovered by Road Policing Unit West following a short pursuit in Farnworth.
"Offenders were quicker on foot however leaving items behind that helps to identify them.
"Vehicle has been returned to owner. One offender is now in custody for process and interview following their arrest under suspicion of burglary."
