A MAN, in his twenties, has died after a 'major' crash outside Domino's Pizza in Abingdon last night. 

Another man, 20, man has been arrested on suspicion of 'driving over the prescribed limit' and dangerous driving.

Police cars raced to Ock Street at around 9.30pm after a crash between a red BMW, black Vauxhall Insignia, and the man. 

Two rapid response cars, two ambulances, and an air ambulance also arrived after the urgent 999 call. 

The man was taken to the major trauma unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital in the back of an ambulance with the team from the helicopter onboard. 

But his afternoon he was pronounced dead.

His family have been told. 

The drivers of the red BMW and black Vauxhall were not injured. 

Residents on Facebook said it was the fourth serious accident in 12 months on the popular street. 

Now police officers are hoping anybody who saw something vital will get in touch.

Investigating officer, Sergeant Darren Brown, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to this collision, or anyone who has information, to please come forward.

“We would particularly like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity prior to the collision and may have seen the two vehicles involved.

“I would also urge motorists in the local area around this time to check dash-cam footage in case it has captured something that could assist the investigation."
