Two rotary clubs have combined forces to raise money for a hospice so it can buy new medical equipment.
The Rotary Club of Watford and St Albans have put together their efforts to help patients who are being looked after by Peace Hospice Care.
The hospice is a charity that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients and families facing a life limiting illnesses by providing care and support.
The two clubs joined together its District Foundation Grant to raise more than £4000 for the hospice.
This will allow the hospice to buy aprons, gloves, masks, ear thermometers, stethoscopes and glucometers to help patients.
President of the Watford Rotary Club Richard Goates said: “The Peace Hospice has always been high in the list of charities we support, they do amazing work.
"The chairman of the board of trustees, who oversaw the construction of the hospice and was indeed the first doctor to practice there, was none other than Robin Gain.
"He is a member of the Watford Rotary Club and is still an active member at a sprightly 87 years old."
