ORGANISERS of an art exhibition outside Oswestry are hoping to appeal to people wanting to do 'normal' things and attend the event.

The summer art exhibition is being held at The Sweeney Hotel, outside Oswestry, between Monday, August 3 to Friday, August 7, and features the work of local artist Jon Young.

Ali Tickner, who is promoting the exhibition, says the feedback received while putting out flyers and posters in Oswestry indicates people are welcoming this type of event as it feels like they can visit places again.

And Ali is hoping that will be reflected in the numbers attending the event.

"Heading around town to publicise the event, I've had lots of good feedback because people are happy to see these type of events picking up again," said Ali.

"If you want to get out and see art in a lovely, local and spacious venue, then please come along and enjoy Jon's beautiful artwork in the glorious setting of The Sweeney.

"No booking is required for the exhibition, but lunches and afternoon teas are available – if required – on 01691 652450 or by heading to thesweeneyhotel.com"

The exhibition runs from 11.30am until 3.30pm for each of the five days.
