WREXHAM's town centre car parks will be free until September, the council has confirmed.

Wrexham Counil says free parking in all council run car parks in the town centre will be extended until the end of September, but although visitors are asked to observe the time limits in force to ensure popular car parks do not remain full all day.

Car parks that are free are; Crescent Road, Guildhall, Library, Market Street, Tŷ Pawb

Leader of the council, Cllr Mark Pritchard, said: “We have taken the decision to maintain free parking in our car parks in the town centre in order to support the wide variety of independent traders who are based here. ”

Cllr Terry Evans, lead member for Economic Development, added: “Wrexham has an excellent independent base of traders who deserve the support of people in Wrexham to help them move forward following the strict lockdown.

"They have gone to a lot of trouble to ensure the are able to open safely and we have also supported that work with town centre signage, a one way system on Bank Street and social distancing wardens. Please take advantage of the free parking offer in order to show your support for our traders.”
