THE revelation that Transport Police has only issued forty fines to people failing to wear masks on buses and trains is pathetic and clearly indicates they don’t give a damn about people catching Covid-19.
The compulsory wearing of masks was introduced to try and stem the spread of the most terrible pandemic we have experienced in our lifetime and instead of clamping down on the ignorant ‘I don’t give a damn brigade’, the police act like social workers who think it’s their job to ‘advise’ these morons.
So the question has to be asked, how many people have contracted coronavirus because of their pathetic enforcement and perhaps more importantly, how many have died of it?
The role of the police is to enforce the law, not pick and choose how they will do it.
Parliament decides the law, not some individual who wants to make life easy for themself and without a doubt there’s an army of them doing just that. Their pathetic behaviour is prolonging this pandemic and their pitiful failure in enforcement is having deadly consequences on the population.
As a resident of Epping Forest I would like to know how many fines have been handed out by Essex Police and no doubt the Police Commissioner will publish the current figures.
Given the fact that I see dozens of people in shops not wearing masks, I’m expecting him to use his fingers and thumbs.
