The victim of a fatal stabbing in Barnet has been named as 22-year-old Anthony Adekola.

Met Police said he was found suffering from stab injuries in Martlesham Walk on Saturday (September 5).

Officers were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) at approximately 11.05pm to reports of a stabbing on Debden Close.

Officers immediately provided first aid after discovering Anthony but he was pronounced dead at the scene at 11.45pm.

The next of kin have been informed and a special post-mortem examination is currently ongoing.

Police said no arrests have been made but a murder investigation has been launched.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John of Specialist Crime said:"Another life has been tragically lost to knife crime, and our thoughts and sympathies are with Anthony’s friends and family at this difficult time.

"We continue to piece together the events of Saturday night and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw or heard anything suspicious to please contact us."
