THERE may have been an exciting event taking place when a new activity park opened in Wiggenhall Road. However, after all the partying and self congratulating on the big day of opening on September 14, there are some snags with the activity park that need addressing sooner rather than later.

On observation of the new activity park, I notice it can only be entered and exited by way of the entrance on Wiggenhall Road. Inside the park, I could only see six car parking spaces that were all occupied, which meant that cars entering had no other option but to then reverse out because of not enough space to turn their car around. Cars were then reversing out onto a very busy Wiggenhall Road whilst also doing plenty of observations making sure it was safe to drive over the footpath because of children using the footpath that crossed the entrance to the activity park.

To alleviate the problem of one point of entrance and exit for the park and to avoid a nasty accident, it would be a good and better plan for a car park to be built on Oxhey Park grassland and adjacent to Eastbury Road. Then a bridge to be built across the River Colne that would allow parents and children to walk from the car, down the steps from Eastbury Road and across the bridge to the park safely.
