A person has died after they were hit by a train this morning.

The British Transport Police has confirmed a person was pronounced dead at Harrow & Wealdstone station after emergency services were called at 11.47am (September 29).

There were multiple police cars and ambulances parked outside the station with the London Fire Brigade also attending.

The British Transport Police said in a statement: "Officers were called to Harrow and Wealdstone station at 11.47am this morning following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

In the aftermath of the incident, all railway lines were blocked between Watford Junction and London Euston, disrupting a number of services.

London Overground, Bakerloo line, London Northwestern, Avanti West Coast, and Southern services have all been disrupted.

Lines partially reopened at around 1pm and even though all lines were open by 2.45pm, National Rail is warning of delays to journeys.

An incident involving trespassers at Watford High Street station has added to the delays.

The travel information company said on its website: "All lines have now reopened after a person was hit by a train between Watford Junction and Wembley Central. 

"However, trains may continue to be delayed due to a trespass incident at Watford High Street.

"Trains between Watford Junction and London Euston may still be delayed by up to 40 minutes or cancelled until approximately 6pm.".

As a result of the trespass incident, there are severe delays on the London Overground between Watford High Street and London Euston.
