Staff and residents at a care home are celebrating after receiving a ‘Good’ rating from a health watchdog.

Aarandale Manor Luxury care home, in Mill Hill, was awarded the rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following an inspection earlier this year.

The ‘Good’ rating means the home has exceeded the required standards to ensure residents’ safety and well-being.

The home was rated as ‘Good’ in the areas of ‘effective,’ ‘caring,’ ‘well led’ ‘and ‘Good’ for its service being ‘safe.’

The planned inspection took place over two days on the 3rd and 4th of September.

One relative was quoted saying in the report that their loved one had “made a massive improvement since being there" and she was “very confident she is safe and well looked after”.

The report added: “People were supported to live healthy lives and had access to a variety of services and support where required to promote their health and well-being.”

General Manager at the home Jessa Avila said: “I am incredibly proud that the home has been recognised as ‘Good’ by the CQC.

“Success is not achieved by one individual and behind every success is hard work and passion. My team are so dedicated, enthusiastic and are on a journey of continuous improvement in order to enable the residents to live active and fulfilled lives.

"I would personally like to thank the residents, relatives, head office and our wonderful team members for supporting Aarandale Manor and making every day a true pleasure and I am extremely excited and look forward to the next stages of our journey together.”

Wendy McDonough, the Regional Operations Director said: “I am absolutely delighted. To be working with such an amazing team at Aarandale Manor and I’m so happy that the dedication and love they bring to work each day has been formally recognised.”
