A teenager has been charged with attempted murder by detectives investigating a stabbing in Borehamwood.
A woman was found with multiple stab wounds to her chest after the emergency services were called to an address in Ranskill Road on Monday morning.
She was rushed to hospital in a serious condition.
Police say she remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A 17-year-old was arrested on Monday on suspicion of GBH and he was taken into police custody.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary confirmed today a 17-year-old boy from Borehamwood has since been charged with attempted murder.
He has been remanded in custody.
The stabbing has been described by police as an "isolated incident".
A police spokesperson said on Tuesday: "We believe this to be an isolated incident between parties known to each other and are not looking for anyone else in connection to it."
